How are backups managed?
In addition to any disaster recovery that is provided by our web host, we do full backups nightly that are sent off-site. We also perform incremental backups 4 times a day.
In the unlikely event that the data center burned to the ground and our server and information was a total loss, the most we would lose would be six hours of data entry.
File uploads (images, videos, etc) on Amazon Web Services are stored simultaneously across several data centers.
Our servers are hosted with a company called Linode, the server itself is located in Newark, NJ. Offsite backups are stored on Amazon Web Services servers near Reston, Virginia.
For our Canadian customers, we maintain a completely separate instance of Rescue Hub that is physically located in Canada. Our data center is in Toronto, and file uploads/backups are located in Toronto and Montreal.
